Pressure Washing to Clean the Inviting Areas of Your Property

When a visitor comes to your home, they often pull into a driveway, walk down a sidewalk, and wait at the front porch before going inside. These three areas of your home make the first impression as they are the first thing a visitor sees. Mold, mildew, dirt, rust, and all sorts of other things gather and negatively affect curb appeal.

Since these areas of your home are usually made of concrete, they can be cleaned with a pressure washer. Depending on the types of stains, you may need certain detergents to do the job right. Unless you are just spraying off some leaves or a little dirt, calling a professional is the recommended course of action to ensure you eliminate all the organic material.

Do you need your concrete driveway, sidewalk, patio, or pool area cleaned?

Pool Area Cleaning

Mold, mildew, algae, and other organic materials are prevalent around fences and walls when there is a lot of water and moisture. Pool areas surrounded by a hard surface such as concrete or stone can be pressure washed to remove stains. Detergents can also be used but you must be careful to make sure they don’t get in the pool.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pressure Washing

Pressure Washing Charlotte, NC and surrounding areas

Will pressure washing damage my property?

Pressure washing can actually damage property depending on what type it is. You can use higher pressures on hard surfaces such as concrete, stone, asphalt, and brick without having to worry about damage. Mid-Level pressures can be used on decks, fences, and other wood structures. Lower pressures, also known as soft washing, is required for roofs, siding, and windows.

Do you use chemicals when pressure washing?

Chemicals are used much less with pressure washing as opposed to soft washing since the high pressure can knock off more debris, but it is still used at higher pressures. Pre-treating areas you are going to pressure wash will make it easier to remove the dirt and grime while also allowing you to complete the job quicker. You won’t have to make as many passes if mold, mildew, and other materials are loosened up. Post- treatment is also common when pressure washing sidewalks, driveways, and patios.

Will pressure washing break my windows?

It is possible for a pressure washer to break your window but it is more likely that the water will break the seal around windows allowing water to pass through. This is why it is important to use lower water pressure on windows and make sure to spray in the middle of the window sections letting water splash to the outside instead of spraying directly on the outside seals.

Can you pressure wash a car?

Pressure washing a car is not recommended because it can chip the paint. Standing farther way from the vehicle will reduce the amount of force being applied which will make paint chipping less likely but it is much better to just use less water pressure on your vehicles.
